about

During the last midterm elections I didn't see either side dealing with issues I wanted dealt with: gun control, pollution, over fishing, overcrowding. I'd been listening to Crosby Stills Nash & Young during this time and so this song was strongly influenced by the late 60's early 70's folk rock sound and its political aspects are poignant to this time as well.

lyrics

Old Van
I get this feeling it's all wrong/ left and right let everybody down/ pack my bag move down by the river side/ won't be seen no more cause I'm leavin

Old van roll me down the line/ like a river boat gambler gambling one more time/ seen the law man looking over my shoulder/ old van roll me down the line

Bright orange sun on the horizon/ try to stay cool while the mercurys rising/ take a dip in that ol river/ won't be seen no more cause I'm leavin,

Old van roll me down the line/ like a river boat gambler gambling one more time/ seen the lawman looking over my shoulder/ old van roll me down the line

One last round locked in the chamber/ friend or foe, it's all the same danger/ no fish or drink left in that ol river, won't be seen no more cause im leavin, won't be seen no more, won't be seen no more

Old van roll me down the line/ like a river boat gambler gambling one more time/ seen the lawman looking over my shoulder/ old van roll me down the line

Old van roll me down the line/ like a river boat gambler gambling one last time/ seen the lawman looking over my shoulder/ old van roll me down the line/old van roll me down the line/ old van roll me down the line
